Job Description:
Senior Consultant
Summary of Responsibilities/Duties: The role of a consultant for (client)
is to provide advanced product knowledge, software development services
and technical support as needed in a client implementation. In addition,
software development and configuration services will be required during
long-term support for a variety of clients who are installing and running
the market-leading Aptify Explorer product. The following is a list of
the primary responsibilities performed by (client) consultants but does
not represent a complete list as the duties change from time to time as
needed to ensure optimal client satisfaction. They do, however, represent
a fairly comprehensive list of the principle activities involved in consulting
at (client).
Design, develop, and test Aptify Explorer based software applications.
Utilize Aptify Explorer to help organizations configure their business
applications and databases.
Provide data conversion support by creating SQL scripts and SQL Server
Data Transformation Services (DTS).
Guide new clients in setting up and configuring Aptify Explorer to meet
their unique needs.
Assist new clients in developing and implementing maintenance and administrative
procedures, including robust backup routines. Business Analysis, in the
areas shown below as well as others: Financials - G/L, A/P, A/R,
Billing, Project Costing, Budgeting, Asset Management. Association
Management - Membership, Dues, Meetings, Trade Shows, Fund Raising.
Human Resources - HR, Payroll, Flexible Benefits, Pension.
Develop crystal reports and perform other analysis projects as needed.
Develop and utilize quality assurance procedures to assure high quality
software products are consistently delivered to clients.
Identify and resolve bugs/issues in products and configuration deliverables.
Provide subject-matter expertise on Aptify Explorer software and related
business applications.
Education:
This position requires solid knowledge of computer science fundamentals
along with a Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
Experience with Microsoft development tools such as Visual Basic, Active
Server Pages, Visual C++, etc, is desired, but is not required for the
position.
Any experience with business topics such as finance, accounting, or
marketing is considered beneficial in this role but is not required.
Prior Experience:
This position is open to both new graduates as well as individuals who
already have significant prior work experience.
Travel: This position requires the consultant to be willing to travel
up to 50%. While (client) has many clients in the Washington DC and
Chicago area, the company also has clients throughout the USA and is
currently expanding internationally. For this reason, consultants need
to be willing to travel on short and long-term assignments anywhere
in the US and potentially internationally. If a consultant is on a long-term
travel assignment, round-trip airfare back to the consultant's home
city will be provided on a weekly basis to allow the consultant to return
home each weekend.
Work Status: US Citizenship or Permanent Residency (Green Card) is required
for this position.
